The Brief:
Wrexham & Shropshire operates direct trains to London from Wrexham, Shrewsbury and Telford. Sugar Marketing were asked to work alongside Wrexham & Shropshire’s online agency to build the company’s brand and increase ticket sales by both consumer and business customers.
What we did:
We approached this PPC campaign by looking into how people purchased tickets online. We found that people actually searched in very generic ways using key words such as ‘train to London’. Therefore, our challenge was to devise a campaign that only attracted people who could use this line or were genuinely interested in Wrexham & Shropshire. We responded by devising a complex geo-targeted campaign to ensure we only got the traffic likely to buy tickets.
The result: Wrexham & Shropshire enjoyed a 1,300% return on investment as a result of their PPC campaign.

Company Portraits:
Helping a new company succeed.
The Brief:
London-based Company Portraits produces staff photographic portraits on a simple price per person basis. It is the brainchild of renowned commercial and lifestyle photographer, Mark Turnbull and his clients include Goldman Sachs, Sainsbury’s and AXA. The brief was simple – to drive targeted online business traffic from London and the South East to the website and convert this traffic to sales.
What we did:
When we were asked to work on this project, Mark’ was intending to use another name for his business. However, when Sugar Marketing researched the marketplace we found that people search for staff photography using the keywords ‘company portraits’ very frequently. With this insight, Mark renamed his business ‘Company Portraits’ and this also helped him maximise both paid and organic online searches.
We then designed a highly targeted campaign to attract genuinely interested customers from London and the South East – filtering out those seeking other sorts of photography and therefore maximising their budget.
The Result:
Company Portraits first enquiry came a mere 12 minutes of the PPC campaign going live. Mark has broadened his client base which now includes Avon. Sugar Marketing are now working with Mark to devise campaigns for his other photographic services.

The Brief:
The UK Gas Technologies Group has evolved over two decades into a multi-million pound company and is the UK’s leading process engineering contractor to pharmaceutical, research and semiconductor sectors. The Group’s brief to us was to build their brand and change how they market themselves – to increase business in related fields and internationally.
What we did:
Sugar Marketing developed a strategic online PPC campaign for all the companies within the UK Gas Technologies Group but focused particularly on Puretech (a pharmaceutical water purification company) and its related products and services.
The Result
The campaign continues to successfully achieve the brief, we can see between 10 - 15 trackable enquires a month coming in from the PPC campaign from all over the world.
